WWE Extreme Rules 2015: Predictions

WWE will host the 7th annual Extreme Rules event, live on pay-per-view, and the WWE Network tomorrow night. The show currently has 8 matches on the card, however many suspect that Daniel Bryan will be physically unable to defend his Intercontinental Championship. Although I believe this to be the case, I feel that 8 matches will still take place.
Prediction 1: Neville defeats Bad News Barrett
Barrett comes out and claims he would have won the IC strap had Bryan defended it, and he makes an open challenge to assert his dominance. Neville hits the ring, making his pay-per-view debut and defeats fellow English-man Bad News Barrett via pinfall after hitting the Red Arrow.

Back to the actual beginning of the card, the Pre-Show match will see Kidd and Cesaro defend the Tag Gold against Big E and Kofi Kingston of the New Day.
Prediction 2: The New Day defeats Kidd and Cesaro for the Tag Team Championships
As much as I hate to say it, I believe Kidd and Cesaro will drop the straps. Truth be told, I am a huge fan of all 4 men involved in the match-up, however, New Day isn't ready for a title run. But when the tale is told, Kofi and Big E will hold the titles and face the Lucha Dragons at Payback, as they will look for Payback after being cost the shot at Extreme Rules by the “X-Factor” Xavier Woods.

In a match that doesn’t need much description, Sheamus will take on Dolph Ziggler. Again, I am a huge fan of both of these guys, so I’m real excited for this one, although the stipulation disgusts me.
Prediction 3: Sheamus defeats Dolph Ziggler in the “Kiss Me Arse” match
After defeating Ziggler, Sheamus should set his sights on John Cena and the U.S. championship at Payback. Ziggler should take a few weeks off due to humiliation and return as a heel.

Nikki Bella has greatly improved herself in the ring during her recent Divas Championship run, however, it is time for some change. For the last 2 years, it has been all AJ Lee, Paige, and now Nikki Bella, in the Divas Championship picture. With Naomi, Natalya, Tamina, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Bayley, Becky Lynch, Emma, and perhaps even an improving Eva Marie, possessing loads of in ring talent, why leave the title to 3 women in 2 years? Taking this into consideration, my prediction for this match is easy.
Prediction 4: Naomi defeats Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship
Dean Ambrose: A guy who the fans absolutely love. You would figure with the popularity he has, he’d be main eventing every show WWE has had for the last 10 months. However, he has found himself in 2 unfortunately lack-luster feuds that could have both been the best we’ve seen in years. Of course, I’m referring to his programs with Seth Rollins and Bray Wyatt. Ambrose finds himself in another one of these programs, this time with Luke Harper. Two men who have almost the same gimmick, great wrestling skill, and the ability to be hardcore, which in WWE in the year 2015 is huge. Unfortunately, again, Ambrose isn't getting what he deserves. The same goes for Harper. The build for this match has been overlooked and now rushed. It can be compared to being late for work in the morning and having to quickly chow down your cereal. However, if given proper time, this match can be incredible with insane spots.
Prediction 5: Dean Ambrose defeats Luke Harper in the Chicago Street Fight

Roman Reigns looks to pick up moment and prove himself to the WWE fans. These tasks will not be easy when facing the Big Show. This rivalry, in my eyes, has been better than expected. However, the fans still don’t like Show and still don’t except Reigns. I wish Reigns the best from here on out, and I hope he becomes WWE champion in the near future. And that appears to be what he’s being set up for, after his obvious victory over Big Show
Prediction 6: Roman Reigns becomes the Last Man Standing, defeating Big Show

John Cena is doing a great job in his recent role in WWE. He’s putting on 5 star matches seemingly every show, ever since WrestleMania 31, and I don’t think his time with the U.S. championship is over just yet. A Rusev loss would really hurt, considering he has nothing to go after, after a second loss to Cena. He will get lost in the shuffle, and be considered “buried” by the IWC. I have nothing in mind for Rusev after this event, so most likely, neither does the Creative Team. That is upsetting for a great talent like Rusev. Nevertheless, Cena will overcome the odds, defeat Rusev, and continue to have a great championship run.
Prediction 7: John Cena defeats Rusev in the Russian Chain Match to retain the United States Championship.

Seth Rollins has transformed himself into the greatest heel of the current generation. He has done outstanding work both on the mic and in the ring. He is the total package, and he finds himself defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. In a Steel Cage match with Kane guarding the outside and the RKO banned, Rollins defends his championship against Randy Orton. I don’t have a clue what Kane’s role in the match is going to be, or how Rollins is going to defeat Orton, but my common sense tells me Rollins won’t drop the Championship. Orton will put Rollins over Sunday, the same way Chris Benoit put over Orton at SummerSlam 2004.
Prediction 8: Seth Rollins defeats Randy Orton via pinfall in the Steel Cage, retaining the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

This event has had a lackluster build, therefore all 8 matches will have to be near perfectly executed. The 8 matches all have the potential to be instant-classics, so hopefully each match will live up to it’s potential.

Predicted match of the night: Cesaro and Kidd(c) with Natalya vs. The New Day(Big E and Kofi Kingston, with Xavier Woods) in the Kick-Off Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships
